Low-Carb Kaiserschmarrn

With millions of paleo-conform pancake recipes out there and another great variety of low-carb versions, we thought it is time to  add a new dish to our breakfast collection.

And to manifest the deliciousness of a dish equally tasty: Kaiserschmarrn – a typical Bavarian/ Austrian dessert option.

Kaiserschmarrn  (Emperor’s Mess) is a shredded pancake, which has its name from the Austrian emperor (Kaiser) Franz Joseph I, who was very fond of it.

Probably especially after a long day in the snowy mountains – this is where Kaiserschmarrn is nowadays enjoyed the most: after an active day on the slopes as a dessert, even though the portions serve easily as main meals.

But why not keep it low-carb?

Try to avoid sugary raisins or apple sauce as a condiments – and step away from adding a load of cinnamon sugar to your “mess”.
